Abstract

This paper focuses on a research and development approach in the field of Computer Based Human-Learning Environments design. The peculiarity of this approach is that it is grounded on learning theories (e.g., collaborative learning theories) and practices (e.g. learning by designing) with the aim to develop models enabling teachers to design learning environment and tools. The design cycle entails the prototypes testing in an ecological context. The purpose is to arrive at industrializing them as educational and professional products in order to increase long run returns. This approach has been developed during our research works. Here we will illustrate one application describing a learning environment for online collaborative project work.
